  • Groups to consider each question, leader to record all views
  1. Tenure and affordability
    a. What should the mix between ownership and rental be, has the HNA got it right?
    b. Should we consider eligibility on new developments, e.g. for residents and those working in Durham?
    c. Where should future development take place?
    d. Where should it not?
  2. Type and size
    a. Is there sufficient housing stock for families?
    b. Should new properties have one, two or more bedrooms?
    c. Should new properties be semis, detached, terraced, or low rise blocks, or a mixture?
    d. How much single households and young family / starter home development should there be?
  3. Specialist Housing
    a. Should this focus on bungalows, multi-generational houses, or a mixture?
    b. Should development match standards M4 (2), M4 (3) or a mixture?
    c. Where should any new development of specialist housing take place?
  4. Houses in multiple occupation
    What do you think to the following local enhancements to Policy 16:
    i. Revision of radius
    ii. Use of street frontage in addition to radius (e.g. 100m (Oxford) or 3 continuous (Birmingham))
    iii. Restricting “sandwiching” (1 either side (Bath), or adding front and back (Bristol)
    iv. Does not remove an existing valuable use.
