3 Sustainability theme.
Noted last meeting agreed a discussion between GRA and BPC with other invitees would take place 7pm, 21st November. This would not be a public meeting but an opportunity to share thoughts about issues and potential policies that could then be the subject of consultation. Lesley to check room availability at Belmont Community Centre. Carole will check out knowledgable invitees.
- Housing
Patrick circulated a preliminary draft of possible policies (copy attached). These were based on discussion at the June pubic meeting and NPWG on 31 July. Recognised further work was needed but meeting agreed with general direction. Particular points discussed
• Need for preamble to each section and justification for policies
• Consideration of ‘right to rent’ for sons/daughters living in social housing when parent dies
• mechanisms for affordable purchase – discounts etc
• highlight particular social groups and their needs – asylum seekers, DASH clients etc
• more detail on energy efficiency – batteries for solar panels, insulation, district heating systems etc
• parking in proposed terrace/town house developments including ev points
• potential sites for two bed bungalows

5 Review of themes.
a) Considered transport, travel and highways probably warranted attention. Points raised
• street parking on pavements
• need for hopper type buses, particularly on Belmont
• adherence to parking restrictions
• congestion associated with retail parks
• mobility scooters
• ev charging points
b) The economy in general probably warranted more attention
